If A Song Could Get Me You has been officially released on myspace!
The song is amazing, much more than the acoustic version let on (not that we doubted Marit). There is also a new promo photo, that you can view in the gallery.
Isn't life grand?
Oh, the excitement!
I've been busy uploading audio files today, including tracks for Marit and Marion's children's album Marit Og Marion: Synger Kjente Barnesanger and M2M interviews. I'm still not done yet, but check out The Marit Chronicles for updates.
And now we'll eagerly await the official release of If A Song Could Get Me You. It's already the 11th here in Australia, and no word yet. Can't wait!
So here we go, the first site to have downloadable audio from the unplugged performances of If A Song Could Get Me You.
Head over to The Marit Chronicles to hear the audio taken from the performance at the green grocer.
Just don't forget to buy the real thing when it's released on Sunday.
Lyrics are also up in the Music section, if you are interested. These aren't official, but it's what I hear when I listen to the song. Enjoy!
Thanks to the beauty of YouTube we have our very first sneak peek of Marit's new single If a Song Could Get Me You. Filmed on a moving train in Norway, Marit plays the single live, unplugged, on both guitar and a toy piano. Watch out for the xylophone too!
The official release date for the song is still a couple of days away, so enjoy this for now - it's all happening again!
UPDATE
Seems there is a whole series of videos from Marit playing the new song all over Oslo. And that's why we love her.

In awesomely exciting news - Marit has announced via myspace that a new single is about to drop. "If A Song Could Get Me You" from her upcoming sophomore album "The Chase" is set to debut on August 11th on radio station NRK P1 as well as on myspace. Ooh excitment!!
Se & Her and VG.no also confirm that the album itself will be released on 13th October.
Can I get a WHOOP WHOO-OOP!!
I want to draw your attention to the Media section of the site, particularly to a video I found on YouTube recently. I don't know if you've already seen it, but the is a video of M2M's last sound check on the Jewel Tour in 2002 just before the break up. The audio doesn't quite match the visual, but I was excited to find it.
I've been adding a whole bunch of new articles, interviews and reviews from the M2M days and around the time "Under The Surface" was released.
I also spent a lot of time last night adding heaps of M2M photos to the gallery, which you might find interesting. There's a few updated Marit albums as well in there.
Thanks again for visiting the site. Hope you enjoy it!
What I believe is Marit's first English speaking interview since 'the break up' is now available for viewing in the Media section.
Quite frankly, I never thought I'd hear her utter another English word ever again, but here is the proof. Her accent has changed, but she says some very interesting things. She also finally sheds a little bit of light on the "Under The Surface" video that everyone can't quite figure out or agree on. The other new video is one from a while back, at the by:Larm festival in 2005. It's in Norwegian, but if you understand Norwegian, or just like to look at Marit, I'm sure you'll be thrilled, ha ha.
Meanwhile, I'm still working on the site, still working on the graphics. I'm actually pretty crap at making interesting graphics, but I'll get there. And by the way, I get the impression that the site doesn't look very good AT ALL if it is viewed in Explorer for some reason. Where possible, please use Firefox.
Thanks!
So here we go again. Once again I am trying to get this site back up and running. It may take me some time to get used to this layout, I'm not too sure where I'm going to put everything. Hopefully I can restore the site to it's former "Devoted To M2M" glory.
Speaking of Devoted To M2M, it's still there, with all the content still in tact. I was just sick of the layout and the hassle of editing it. I'm finding this a far more easier way to go about things.
Now, this is my first ever attempt at html editing. I didn't even know how to use it before yesterday, so give me a break and let me know if you see something that needs fixing.
Aside from that, I'm working hard on getting the 'photography' section up and going because I know that was always a big favourite back in the day.
And I haven't shunned Marion altogether either. But basically, I'm not particularly interested in her career at the moment, so I don't feel the urge to write about her or spread the word with others.
Plus, Marit is the coolest and has gone beyond proving herself as one of the best solo female artists of recent years both commercially and critically.
So basically, I hope you enjoy the site. Thanks to everyone for any material they provided on here. Hopefully I have thanked everyone that deserves to be thanked and provided all my sources, within reason.
Enjoy!
Welcome to DryShimmerDazzle, a site devoted to the talented singer/songwriter, Marit Larsen. I aim to fill this site with all things Marit, from her M2M days to the current albums and anything the future holds for her. Please enjoy the site and let me know what you think.
